New Zone “Strip Central” Added to Las Vegas Strip Hotels on Hotwire If you are bidding for travel on Hotwire in Vegas, you may be happy to learn that they have now added a new bidding zone, “Strip Central”. The Las Vegas $20 trick is nothing more than giving a tip to the front desk clerk of your hotel during check in while asking for an upgrade. It is coined the “$20 Trick” because traditionally the tip would be $20. To my knowledge, this phenomenon does not work in other cities because the culture of tipping to get what you want is not as prevalent in other cities through the United States as in Las Vegas. TravelPony is a new hotel booking website that offers savings over Expedia and Hotwire. The catch: you need to sign up to see prices and post your savings on social media. After testing it out, I have found that the savings can be quite significant over traditional booking engines like Expedia. Using Priceline for Hotel Reservations in Lake Tahoe
I had the opportunity to check out Lake Tahoe Recently. I had been there about 15 years ago, but I was always confused about the various bidding regions on Priceline. Lake Tahoe Bidding Zones – Overview: There are 7 bidding zones in the Lake Tahoe on Priceline, covering the main tourist areas in both North and South Lake, as well as some outer lying areas that do not get many hotel bookings (and which I didn’t visit). For casino fans, you’ll want to stay on the Nevada side as there are no casinos on the California side of Lake Tahoe.
In the last few months, the Palazzo Hotel in Las Vegas has been coming up A LOT on Priceline. I saw this deal recently thanks to a Priceline forum member posting their Palazzo winning bid and I couldn’t resist. I actually booked a trip to Las Vegas, bid on a 5 star hotel, and snagged this gem. Given that this hotel has come up so much on Priceline recently, it seems that a blog post on this hotel is in order.
Getting The Palazzo Hotel On Priceline: The first thing anyone should know about 5-star hotels on Priceline is that the Palazzo is located in Priceline’s “Strip North” bidding zone. If you’re bidding on a 5-star hotel in this zone, you should be aware that there are other 5 star hotels that you could get.
