Getting The Palazzo Hotel On Priceline: In the last few months, the Palazzo Hotel in Las Vegas has been coming up A LOT on Priceline. I saw this deal recently thanks to a Priceline forum member posting their Palazzo winning bid and I couldn’t resist. I actually booked a trip to Las Vegas, bid on a 5 star hotel, and snagged this gem. Given that this hotel has come up so much on Priceline recently, it seems that a blog post on this hotel is in order.
The first thing anyone should know about 5-star hotels on Priceline is that the Palazzo is located in Priceline’s “Strip North” bidding zone. If you’re bidding on a 5-star hotel in this zone, you should be aware that there are other 5 star hotels that you could get. In other words, there is no guarantee with Priceline what hotel you’ll get. Having said that, all the 5 star hotels in Strip North are awesome: Palazzo Hotel, Venetian, Wynn and Encore (possibly).
A couple of years ago, many Priceline customers were getting pissed off because the Trump was included in this zone. The problem is that the Trump is not immediately on the Strip, nor does it have a casino. Thankfully, Priceline fixed that problem. They took the Trump out of the Strip North zone and put this hotel in it’s own zone — Strip Vicinity North (note the word ‘Vicinity’). Now, travellers to Vegas can use Priceline without the fear of getting this generally less desired hotel.
See the Priceline Las Vegas hotel list for all known hotels that appear on Priceline.
How Much To Bid on the Palazzo in Vegas
As I mentioned, there is no guarantee you’ll get the Palazzo Hotel when bidding on Priceline. If you want more assurance, give Hotwire a try as they make it much easier to reveal the name of your hotel by providing a listing of hotel amenities which can be matched up against the Hotwire Vegas hotel list.) However, if you’re prepared to gamble (no pun intended), chances are that you’ll get the Palazzo as it comes up more often than any other hotel in the Strip North Zone.
So, if you’re prepared to take the risk, the question is: How much should you bid? Here are some guidelines
- Check Priceline Las Vegas winning bids in the Priceline Forum. I’ve seen it come up for as low as $100 per night, and it quite often goes for around $130 to $150 per night.
- Check other websites such as Hotwire, etc. for comparables.
- Learn how to rebid. In Las Vegas, there are many rebidding opportunities, so it’s always good to start low and work your way up in price using free rebids. If you’re not sure how to instantly rebid on Priceline for free, it’s worth taking a few minutes to learn how.
More About the Palazzo
The Palazzo is one of only a handful of 5-star hotels in Las Vegas and throughout the United States. It is combined with the Venetian, so hotel guests can enjoy the amazing amenities offered at both hotels. All rooms at the Palazzo are suites.
